HVAC Engineer (Facilities)

Job Responsibilities

1. Manage the daily operation and management of the HVAC system in the power plant to ensure stable operation and normal functioning of heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment.
2. Carry out regular maintenance, servicing, and repair of HVAC equipment, including air conditioning units, boilers, cooling towers, chillers, air compressors, and other related equipment.
3. Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system faults, repair equipment failures promptly, and ensure the system returns to normal operation in the shortest possible time.
4. Monitor and analyze HVAC system energy consumption, propose energy-saving and optimization solutions, and reduce energy consumption and operating costs.
5. Ensure all HVAC operation and maintenance activities comply with safety standards and environmental regulations to prevent safety incidents and environmental pollution.
6. Develop and implement preventive maintenance, inspection, and servicing plans; maintain accurate records of operation, repairs, spare parts usage, and technical documentation.
7. Participate in HVAC system modification, installation, testing, commissioning, and acceptance; coordinate with internal departments and external contractors.
8. Complete other related tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

1. Education: Bachelor's Degree or above in HVAC, Air Conditioning, Power Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Environment and Equipment Engineering, or other related majors.
2. Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC system or power plant equipment operation and maintenance. Experience in industrial facilities or large buildings is preferred.
3. Technical Skills:

• Familiar with HVAC and power equipment principles, operation and maintenance methods, and related codes and standards, such as boilers, air compressors, refrigeration units, etc.
• Skilled in HVAC automation control systems and monitoring tools; able to independently carry out equipment monitoring and debugging.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex equipment problems and quickly develop solutions.

1. Project Management: Able to independently develop and implement equipment maintenance plans and manage maintenance teams.
2. Language: Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is an added advantage.
3. Other Requirements:

• Strong safety awareness and sense of responsibility.
• Good communication, coordination, documentation, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Registered HVAC Engineer, Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) Competent Person Certificate, DOSH-related certificates, Electrician Certificate, or other relevant certifications.

• Experience in power plant, utility, or heavy industrial environment.
• Knowledge of Malaysian safety and environmental regulations.
