IDC Generalist Engineer

1. Perform daily IDC inspection and routine O&M activities.

2. Execute assigned work orders and operational tasks according to Alibaba Cloud SOPs.

3. Support basic troubleshooting and fault identification.

4. Support hardware installation, removal, replacement and equipment handling.

5. Support rack-in/rack-out, equipment migration and cabling activities.

6. Support routine equipment inspection and issue reporting.

7. Assist IT operations, infrastructure and asset teams when cross-functional support is required.

8. Maintain operational records, checklists and work-order information.

9. Support emergency and major-event activities within the engineer's competency.

10. Escalate technical issues requiring specialist knowledge to the relevant Expert/Senior Expert.

11. Support other routine IDC O&M activities assigned within the agreed service scope.

Job Requirements

1. Basic troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify equipment faults and escalate technical issues appropriately.
2. Familiarity with work orders, checklists, ticketing systems, SOPs, and routine operational procedures.
3. Ability to perform routine data center inspections and accurately record and report abnormal conditions or operational issues.
4. Good understanding of data center safety, access control, information security, and EHS requirements.
5. Able to work effectively with IT Operations, Infrastructure, Asset Management, Facilities, and other technical teams.
6. Responsible, detail-oriented, and able to follow procedures accurately in a structured operational environment.
7. Good communication and coordination skills.
8. Good command of English for daily communication, documentation, and coordination. Chinese proficiency is an advantage.
9. Willing to work on-site at the data center, including shift work, standby duties, or emergency support when required.
