Job Description
Oversee and lead all cross-border trade operations for the company, ensuring efficient logistics flow, regulatory compliance, cost optimization, and continuous improvement of import/export processes. This role manages a team and works closely with senior management to support business growth strategies.
- Lead and manage the import and export team to ensure accurate, compliant, and on time shipment execution.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize logistics costs, lead times, and overall operational efficiency.
- Oversee end to end import and export processes, including documentation, customs clearance, and compliance with local and international trade regulations.
- Provide expertise in HS code classification, duty optimization, Free Trade Agreements, and customs exemptions to minimize risk and cost.
- Manage and negotiate relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and relevant government authorities, including freight rates and service contracts.
- Analyze shipping performance, cost trends, and trade compliance risks, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Establish and maintain SOPs, work instructions, KPI tracking, and ensure audit readiness.
- Resolve complex shipment issues, disputes, and regulatory challenges in a timely manner
- Collaborate cross functionally with Logistic, Procurement, Planning, Warehouse, Sales, and Finance to support overall supply chain strategy.
- Prepare periodic performance reports and updates for senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business or similar/related discipline.
- 8-10 years of relevant experience, preferably with team management experience.
- Strong knowledge of local trade compliance, customs regulations and logistics operation.
- Experience in freight negotiation and vendor management.
- Good Analytical, leadership and communication skills.
- Able to manage pressure, multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Experience with AEO accreditation is preferred.
