Overview
This senior leadership role oversees the Industrial Engineering (IE) function within a large, highvolume manufacturing environment. The position is responsible for driving operational excellence, implementing continuous improvement strategies, optimizing production systems, and ensuring the IE team delivers measurable impact on productivity, efficiency, cost, and longterm organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the Industrial Engineering function
Oversee managers and engineers, set IE standards, drive team performance, and strengthen capability through training, guidance, and coaching. Ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Build and maintain IE standardization systems
Establish and continuously refine IE standards such as capacity norms, standard working hours, and manpower calculation frameworks to enhance consistency and operational discipline.
Drive manufacturing cost reduction initiatives
Plan and monitor budgets, conduct cost variance analysis, and implement strategies to lower production costs while improving profitability and resource utilization.
Enhance operations management systems
Monitor key operational KPIs, upgrade reporting systems, and lead documentation improvements to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and operational transparency.
Lead special engineering and improvement projects
Manage or support strategic projects assigned by senior leadership, conducting evaluations and presenting recommendations that enhance manufacturing performance.
Optimize factory layout and space utilization
Develop longterm space strategies, streamline material and personnel flows, and redesign layouts to maximize space efficiency and operational throughput.
Improve production line balance and bottleneck performance
Apply IE methodologies to eliminate bottlenecks, optimize takt time, and strengthen production line stability and performance.
Key Qualifications & Requirements
Advanced academic background in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
Master's degree preferred; bachelor's candidates with strong relevant experience will be considered.
15+ years of IE or Lean manufacturing leadership experience
Proven track record in multinational manufacturing settings, with exposure to largescale process optimization and project management.
Strong analytical and strategic problemsolving skills
Ability to evaluate complex issues, develop sound strategies, and make datadriven decisions in a fastpaced environment.
Expertise in Lean methodologies and manufacturing cost analysis
Solid understanding of cost structures, efficiency levers, continuous improvement methods, and performance engineering.
Excellent leadership, communication, and crosscultural collaboration skills
Able to influence across functions, lead diverse teams, manage stakeholders, and contribute effectively in global settings. English fluency required; Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.
