Key Responsibilities
Employee Discipline & Case Management
- Manage employee misconduct cases in line with company policy and Malaysian labor law.
- Conduct investigations, gather statements, and prepare detailed reports.
- Draft disciplinary documents (show cause, warning, termination letters).
- Assist in domestic inquiries and grievance resolution proceedings.
Union & Collective Agreement (CA) Support
- Support union negotiations and implementation of the CA.
- Coordinate and document Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) and EXCO meetings.
- Serve as liaison between management and union reps to uphold mutual respect and trust.
Legal Compliance & Advisory
- Ensure company practices align with Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act, and related laws.
- Provide sound advice to management on handling IR matters fairly and legally.
- Keep management informed of key IR risks, updates, and statutory trends.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain up-to-date records of IR cases and disciplinary actions.
- Prepare reports, case dashboards, and incident trends for internal review.
- Support audits and internal investigations where necessary.
Engagement & Culture
- Participate in IR-related townhalls, union dialogues, and engagement initiatives.
- Promote a respectful, inclusive, and complaint-handling culture across the organization.
- Contribute ideas to improve IR processes or engagement programs.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Law, or related field.
Experience
- 23 years of experience in industrial or employee relations.
- Exposure to unionized environments is a plus.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian labor law and IR best practices
- Excellent communication in both English and Bahasa Malaysia
- High integrity, discretion, and strong sense of confidentiality
- Sharp analytical thinking and documentation accuracy
- Confidence to handle sensitive cases with empathy and professionalism
