Position Summary
The Industrial Relations, Compliance & Administration Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of Industrial Relations (IR), Employee Relations (ER), and statutory compliance to ensure fair, consistent, and lawful employment practices. This role serves as a strategic partner to management, providing expert guidance on complex IR matters, overseeing compliance frameworks, and maintaining strong relationships with regulatory authorities. The position also supports organizational governance through policy development, audits, licensing management, and facilities oversight.
Working Location: Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang (next to Setia Alam)
You will play an important role to:
1) Industrial & Employee Relations
- Manage the full spectrum of IR/ER matters in compliance with statutory requirements and company policies.
- Manage disciplinary process, domestic inquiries, terminations, grievances, and conflict resolution.
- Conduct impartial investigations into misconduct, harassment, policy breaches, bribery, and corruption.
- Advise leaders and HR teams on misconduct, poor performance, ER processes, and fair employment practices.
- Represent the company in Industrial Court, Labour Court, conciliation, mediation, and IR Department engagements.
- Liaise with internal and external legal counsel on complex and high-risk IR cases.
2) Compliance & Governance
- Develop, implement, and enhance policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct periodic audits, compliance reviews, and statutory checks to identify risks and corrective actions.
- Support ISO audit processes, documentation management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Review procedures and reports to identify hidden risks and resolve non-conformities.
- Collaborate with the Legal department to implement HR-related regulatory compliance and training programs.
3) Regulatory Management & Licensing
- Manage applications, renewals, and submissions for business and premises licenses.
- Maintain strong working relationships with local councils, government bodies, and labour authorities.
- Attend statutory audits and meetings with regulatory agencies.
4) Training & Capability Building
- Build IR/ER knowledge and capability across HR teams and people managers through targeted training and advisory support.
- Promote a culture of compliance, fairness, and ethical conduct throughout the organisation.
5) Office Administration & Facilities Management
- Oversee office maintenance, workplace safety, and facilities management to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
- Manage administrative budgets, cost control initiatives, and resource allocation.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management / Business Management or other equivalent and relevant working experience.
- 810 years of professional experience in Industrial Relations (IR), HR Policies, and Compliance within manufacturing or FMCG industries.
- Minimum 5 years in a managerial role, with at least 10 years of cumulative hands-on experience in Human Resource Management and a proven track record of achievements in previous roles.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in labour and employment law in Malaysia, including union negotiations, disciplinary procedures, and investigative practices.
