Purpose of the position
The Procurement Intern will support the procurement team in daily sourcing, purchasing, and administrative activities. The role provides hands-on exposure to procurement processes, supplier management, and internal coordination.
Principal responsibilities
- Assist in sourcing materials, equipment, and services as required.
- Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs) to suppliers.
- Support comparison of supplier quotations and basic cost analysis.
- Update and maintain purchasing records, price lists, and supplier information.
- Assist in preparing purchase orders and follow-up on delivery status.
- Coordinate with internal departments on procurement requirements.
- Support documentation and filing for audits and compliance.
- Perform general administrative tasks assigned by the procurement team.
Required key skills (functional/technical)
- Currently pursuing a Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of procurement or supply chain concepts (added advantage).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Detail-oriented, organised, and willing to learn.
Required qualifications/experience
- Currently pursuing a Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in SAP and SRM is added advantage.
