Position Description
CLSA Malaysia is hiring an Associate Director or Director, Institutional Sales with a focus on global/regional equities. As a regional specialist, the role includes working across the CITIC CLSA network to help market CITIC CLSA products to the Malaysian clients.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Work closely with Head of Sales in managing key accounts in Malaysia to capture market share and improve profitability.
- Build and maintain close relationship with existing and new institutional clients to broaden the customer base of CLSA.
- Generate high-valued client interaction and meeting sales targets, focusing on outbound revenues.
- Provide proactive and differentiated ideas to the team, as well as generate Alpha ideas for clients.
- Actively source for timely and accurate information via company and site visits as well as the market and relate the messages to clients for investment decision making purposes.
- Arrange clients meetings to market our analysts, research products as well as promote CLSA Forums and events.
- Identify cross selling opportunities with other departments such as ECM, EQD and FICC. Also to work closely with trading desks from High Touch, Electronic Execution as well as Program and Facilitation Trading.
- Develop good working relationships with corporates, government bodies and industry organizations.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree or above, major in Economics, Finance, Accounting or related disciplines.
- Minimum 8-10 years experience in Institutional Sales. Alternatively, experience in research, investment banking, or relevant industry experience would be an advantage.
- Strong Equities knowledge, ideally across a full service Cash Equities platform.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
- Self-driven – can work with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proficiency in Bloomberg, and the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Strong command in English and with Mandarin is a plus.
