Key Responsibilities
Support the Fleet Management Unit in strengthening policy governance, compliance tracking, and process improvement initiatives. The role contributes to the implementation of Internal Audit recommendations, the revision of the Fleet Management Pekeliling, and the preparatory work for the upcoming Fleet Management System (FMS). The internship provides hands-on experience in governance, data management, and operational efficiency enhancement within a statutory organisation.
Policy Review and Development Support
- Participate in the ongoing revision of the Fleet Management Pekeliling, ensuring alignment with Internal Audit recommendations, MCMC governance standards, and best practices
- Conduct research and benchmarking with similar agencies or organizations to support policy enhancement
- Assist in drafting updated policy clauses, guidelines, and documentation for management review and approval
Audit Follow-Up and Compliance Tracking
- Support the monitoring and documentation of Internal Audit follow-up actions to ensure timely closure of outstanding items
- Compile and verify supporting evidence for audit compliance reports
- Prepare summary updates and progress trackers for submission to the Internal Audit Page 2 of 4 Division or Management Committee
Process and Data Improvement Initiatives
- Assist in the review and mapping of current fleet management processes, identifying potential gaps and improvement opportunities
- Support data organization and validation activities as part of the preparatory work for the upcoming Fleet Management System (FMS) implementation
- Contribute to developing structured documentation and templates to enhance consistency and traceability of fleet operations
Operational and Reporting Support
- Participate in the preparation of monthly or quarterly management reports, focusing on audit compliance, vehicle utilization, and operational efficiency indicators
- Support data analysis and summarization to provide insights for decision-making and governance oversight
- Engage in department meetings, assisting with presentation materials, meeting minutes, and follow-up actions
Governance and Knowledge Development
- Learn and apply principles of organizational governance, compliance, and operational accountability within a statutory body context
- Support initiatives related to sustainability, safety, and continuous improvement within fleet operations
- Participate in collaborative discussions and contribute ideas for improving administrative efficiency and compliance culture
Qualifications/Courses/Studies Background
- Currently pursuing Bachelor of Business Administration/Public Administration (Hons) with a minimum CGPA of 3.2/4.0
- Interest in policy development, governance, or operational efficiency
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and report-writing abilities
