Internship Program (Customer Marketing & Customer Insights)

Sony (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a highly analytical and customer-centric Customer Marketing & Customer Data Analyst to join our team.

In this role, you will support efforts that include customer insights, lifecycle marketing, and data-driven strategy. The ideal student will turn customer behavior data into actionable insights, support targeted marketing activities and improve customer experience throughout the entire journey, from acquisition and engagement to retention and loyalty.

Throughout the internship program, what will you be doing

  • Analyze customer behavior, segmentation, purchase patterns, churn indicators, and engagement metrics.
  • Create dashboards and analytical reports to monitor key customer metrics (e.g., Lifetime Value, Customer Acquisition Cost, churn, retention, cohort performance).
  • Conduct in-depth analysis such as cohort analysis, funnel analysis, and customer segmentation modeling.
  • Convert data insights into clear and actionable recommendations for marketing, product, and sales teams.
  • Support in planning and executing personalized lifecycle campaigns across email, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to study customer retention and customer loyalty, in-product messaging, and paid channels.
  • Use customer insights to optimize onboarding, engagement, retention, upselling, and win-back strategies.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to design A/B tests, evaluate performance, improve targeting and messaging
  • Partner with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing teams to align on customer needs and business goals.
  • Maintain data cleanliness and improve customer tagging within CRM and marketing automation tools.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support quarterly planning, product roadmaps, and customer marketing initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Data Analysis, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistic or equivalence, preferable student in final year.
  • Proficient in data analysis and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
  • Strong analytical and effective problem-solving skills to derive insights from data.
  • Customer oriented mindset with a passion for understanding what drives behavior.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • High level of data accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Internship duration: 3 months and above.
  • Location: Mid Valley office.
