Inventory Control Executive / Senior Executive

Music Bliss is a music instrument and pro audio retailer and distributor based in Petaling Jaya. We serve customers through our showroom, online stores and B2B channels across Malaysia and the region. Thousands of SKUs move through our warehouse and outlets, so stock accuracy is critical to how we serve customers.

About the role

You will own the accuracy and integrity of our inventory. You'll make sure every stock movement is recorded correctly, find and fix the root cause of discrepancies, run stock checks across all our locations, and train our team to use our inventory systems properly. You'll report directly to the Chief Operations Officer and work closely with the warehouse, sales, purchasing and finance teams.

What you'll do

Inventory control & accuracy

1. Perform regular stock reconciliation and investigate shortages, overages and damaged items
2. Ensure all stock movements are accurately and promptly recorded in the inventory system
3. Verify and witness stock write-offs and disposals in line with company SOPs
4. Prepare inventory and stock balance reports for management

Inventory systems championing

1. Act as the subject matter expert for our inventory systems (OMS / WMS)
2. Run onboarding training for new joiners and refresher sessions for existing users
3. Support system users and resolve inventory-related system issues promptly

Process control & risk management

1. Monitor SOP compliance and investigate system non-compliance found through discrepancy cases
2. Work with brand managers to identify high-risk SKUs and run special audits and QC checks
3. Review and improve inventory processes and SOPs on an ongoing basis
4. Coordinate with sales, warehouse and other departments to resolve discrepancies

Stock check planning & execution

1. Plan, organise and carry out cycle counts and the annual stock take across the showroom, warehouse and other locations
2. Make sure stock checks are completed on time, accurately and with proper reporting

What we're looking for

1. Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Accounting, Business or a related field
2. preferably 2 years and above experience in inventory control, stock audit or warehouse operations, ideally in retail or distribution
3. Hands-on experience with OMS and WMS inventory systems
4. Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables)
5. Detail-oriented and analytical, with strong follow-through when investigating discrepancies
6. Confident training and coaching others, including warehouse crew
7. Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia and English; Mandarin is an advantage
8. Candidates with more experience will be considered for the Senior Executive position

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am – 7:00pm; alternate Saturdays, 10:00am – 2:30pm

Location: Petaling Jaya, Selangor (with visits to our other locations as needed)
