The AMD S3 Business Unit IP Systems Engineering team is seeking an energetic, dynamic, experienced IP Systems Engineer to join our growing team. We work with customers to develop new products, previously including game consoles. As an IP Systems Engineer, you will drive the planning, pre-silicon execution, validation, silicon bring-up and debug of AMD processor and graphics based systems while working closely with internal teams to meet product development milestones.

This role specifically focuses on driving the planning, validation, silicon bring-up and debug of AMD graphics and memory related system features (ex: GMDOFF). There is a need for excellent collaboration, working across team boundaries and geographical locations. This role also requires a broad knowledge of the system design lifecycle, spanning across pre-silicon into post-silicon validation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Defining and executing the overall functional test plan and verification strategy for GMDOFF features of AMD SOCs
- Driving innovation to enhance capabilities in validation including tool & script development and technical & procedural methodology improvements
- Debug of issues found during bring-up, validation, and production phases of SOC programs. Lead cross-functional issues debugging
- Work closely with supporting teams such as design, diagnostics, firmware, driver and project leadership
- Support pre-silicon verification efforts such as SimNow, Emulation, and other software/hardware modeling frameworks
- Lead collaborative technical discussions to drive resolution on technical issues and roll out technical initiatives
REQUIREMENTS:
- In-depth knowledge of SOC architecture and concepts
- Strong understanding of BIOS, OS, and driver-level interactions and common failure points
- Good understanding of Boot Flows/Sequences
- Good knowledge of Graphics, Memory hardware and software
- Strong programming/scripting skills (eg. Python, C/C++, Ruby)
- Knowledge of standard power management features and use-cases
- Experience with IP/System level bring-up, SOC debug techniques and methodologies
- Experience with common lab equipment, computer hardware, and networks
- Experience with SimNow and hardware emulation platforms for pre-silicon debug
- Led process improvement initiatives to improve engineering quality
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in pre and post-silicon validation of the relevant IP and 3-6 years experience in semiconductor industry
- Personal passion for graphic and memory technology especially power management areas
- Demonstrated ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly
- Experience with IP/System level bring-up, SOC debug techniques and methodologies
- Strong understanding of BIOS, OS, and driver-level interactions and common failure points
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to details
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter, strong collaborator, and able to independently drive tasks to completion
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple issues at the same time
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field strongly preferred

Education:
Bachelor, Master's degree in Electrical Computer Engineering, or related degrees
