Job Description
Focus on the Family Malaysia (FOFM) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping families thrive. Since 1997, we provide trusted programmes, resources and counselling services to strengthen marriages, parenting and youth relationships, partnering with individuals, organisations and communities across Malaysia.
We are looking for a hands-on and resourceful IT & Systems Lead to manage FOFM's IT needs end-to-end and strengthen the systems that support our growing organisation.
This role will provide day-to-day IT support while strengthening our CRM, data, digital systems and integrations, and driving practical improvements that help teams work more effectively and support FOFM's mission.
The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, finding practical solutions and using technology to help an organisation grow and serve families more effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Systems & Innovation
- Manage and maintain FOFM's websites, CRM, digital platforms and other core technology systems (e.g. Wordpress, Dynamail, SiteGiant, CiviCRM).
- Troubleshoot technical issues and manage system integrations (e.g. Adaptis-ipay88) to ensure systems work reliably and effectively.
- Research, test and
- Research, test and implement cost-effective technology, automation and digital solutions (e.g. Fluent Forms, open-source solutions) to improve workflows and efficiency.
- Work with internal teams to understand technology needs and develop solutions that support their work.
2. Data Management & Security
- Maintain accurate, organised and secure data across FOFM's systems and platforms.
- Design and maintain smooth data flows, integrations and reporting processes to support effective use of organisational data.
- Monitor system performance, data security and cybersecurity risks, and implement appropriate safeguards and improvements (e.g. SiteGround, WordPress).
- Support good data management practices and compliance with relevant privacy and security requirements (e.g. AIOWS, Wordfence, HTACESS).
3. IT Operations & Support
- Manage day-to-day IT infrastructure, hardware, software, user access and technology support.
- Provide timely troubleshooting and practical support to staff, helping them use technology effectively.
- Manage software licences, vendors, IT procurement and related costs, identifying cost-effective solutions where appropriate.
- Keep up to date with relevant technologies and equip staff with practical guidance or training where needed.
4. Organisational Enablement
- Strengthen FOFM's technology systems and capabilities to support organisational growth and changing needs.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve collaboration and help teams work more effectively through technology.
- Provide technology support for organisational events and activities where required.
- Undertake other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience) is an advantage.
- 3+ years in IT management, systems administration, technical support or related roles.
- Strong practical problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and find workable solutions independently.
- Experience with websites, CRM systems, system integrations, cloud platforms and/or automation.
- Good understanding of data management, cybersecurity and technology best practices.
- Resourceful, organised and comfortable managing a broad range of responsibilities.
- A genuine interest in using technology to help FOFM work more effectively and strengthen families.
