Job Summary
The IT Infrastructure Project Manager in the banking domain is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering IT infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with business goals, regulatory requirements, and banking industry standards. The role oversees project scope, timelines, resources, risks, and stakeholder communication while ensuring high availability, security, and performance of banking IT systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Execution
- Lead end-to-end delivery of IT infrastructure projects, including network, servers, storage, cloud, virtualization, and cybersecurity initiatives
- Define project scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource plans
- Prepare project charters, plans, schedules, and status reports
- Coordinate with internal IT teams, vendors, and consultants
Stakeholder Management
- Engage with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements and manage expectations
- Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and mitigations
- Conduct project steering committee meetings and ensure alignment with business priorities
Infrastructure & Banking Compliance
- Ensure infrastructure design and delivery comply with banking regulations (BNM, PCI-DSS, ISO27001)
- Collaborate with IT Security, Risk, and Compliance teams for secure deployments
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity (BCP) considerations are implemented
Risk & Resource Management
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans
- Allocate resources effectively across infrastructure teams
- Monitor project budgets, procurements, and vendor performance
Testing & Implementation
- Oversee system and integration testing, UAT, and production rollouts
- Ensure smooth migration and cutover activities with minimal business disruption
- Support post-implementation review and documentation
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
- Monitor project performance using KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools
- Recommend improvements in project delivery processes and IT infrastructure management
- Maintain project documentation and knowledge transfer
Required Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills
- Strong experience in IT infrastructure management: servers, storage, networking, virtualization, cloud, and security
- Familiarity with data center operations, cloud migration (AWS, Azure, OCI), and hybrid IT environments
- Understanding of ITIL processes, service management, and IT operations
- Knowledge of banking core systems, fintech applications, and regulatory compliance
- Experience with vendor management and procurement
Project Management Skills
- Proven experience managing medium to large-scale infrastructure projects in banking or financial services
- Expertise in project planning, budgeting, risk management, and resource allocation
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 815+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years managing infrastructure projects in banking/financial services
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is preferred
- ITIL, COBIT, or related IT governance certification is an advantage
