Job Description

IT Project Manager (ITPM) is responsible for managing and delivering IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget. The role works closely with business users, technical teams, and vendors to translate business needs into effective technology solutions. The key responsibilities of this role, among others are :-

Develop and manage project plans, schedules, scope, and budgets. Ensure project execution aligns with approved objectives and timelines.

Engage business users, IT teams, and vendors to define requirements and expectations. Maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Ensure all projects adhere to Maybank's IT governance, risk, and compliance frameworks. Maintain required documentation and approvals.

Monitor project budgets, resource allocation, and vendor performance. Optimize costs and ensure efficient use of resources.

Prepare accurate status reports, dashboards, and project documentation for management and audit purposes.

Identify potential risks and issues early. Implement mitigation and contingency plans. Escalate critical matters to management promptly.

Person & Skillset Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of experience in IT project management or related roles.

Master or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Project Management, or Business Administration or related fieldis desired.

Possess certifications in Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2 Certification, Agile / Scrum Master Certification (e.g., CSM, PMI-ACP),ITIL Foundation Certification is an added advantage.

Skilled in using tools such as JIRA, Microsoft Project, Confluence, or equivalent for planning, tracking, and reporting.

Good knowledge of IT systems, SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), infrastructure, and integration concepts to effectively manage technical projects.

Strong ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.

Experience in managing external vendors, negotiating deliverables, and ensuring service level compliance.

Capable of managing organizational and system changes with minimal disruption to business operations.

Ability to analyze complex project issues and propose effective, timely solutions.

Demonstrate strong leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional teams.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Some level of understanding of project budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting for effective resource utilization.
