IT Project Manager (Banking Industry)

Job Overview

We are currently looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to join a leading banking institution in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end IT project delivery, ensuring projects are completed within scope, timeline, and budget.

Candidates with banking or financial services experience are highly preferred. Experience in Wealth System implementation will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage overall project delivery including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource management
• Develop project plans and timelines with stakeholder alignment
• Ensure projects are delivered according to PMO methodologies and SDLC processes
• Coordinate internal teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and external resources
• Monitor project progress, risks, issues, and dependencies proactively
• Prepare accurate and timely management status reports
• Lead project meetings and ensure proper communication across stakeholders
• Govern change management processes and ensure approval controls are in place
• Conduct project post-mortem reviews and provide improvement recommendations
• Work closely with PMO teams to manage cross-project dependencies

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or related field
• Minimum 4 years of Project Management experience
• Banking or Financial Services industry experience is highly preferred
• PMP certification is an added advantage
• Experience handling projects across the full SDLC lifecycle
• Familiar with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Able to present effectively to senior management
• Problem-solving mindset with strong interpersonal skills
