About the Role

Qube Markets is looking for a hands-on IT Support & Security Specialist to support our growing team in Malaysia.

This role combines day-to-day technical support with cybersecurity operations. You will ensure employees have reliable access to devices, systems, networks, and business applications while protecting the organisation through strong access controls, endpoint security, vulnerability management, monitoring, and incident response.

The ideal candidate is service-oriented, security-conscious, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

IT Support and Operations

  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, office networks, email, collaboration tools, VPNs, and business applications.
  • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding, including device preparation, account creation, access provisioning, and secure access removal.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and macOS devices.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, shared resources, email systems, and cloud productivity platforms.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT assets, software licences, warranties, access rights, and equipment assignments.
  • Manage technical issues through the ticketing system and ensure timely resolution and clear communication with users.
  • Coordinate with vendors and regional technology teams to resolve infrastructure and application issues.
  • Prepare and maintain IT procedures, technical documentation, system inventories, and disaster recovery information.

Information Security

  • Manage endpoint protection, device encryption, patching, antivirus/EDR, mobile device management, and security configurations.
  • Support identity and access management, including multi-factor authentication, privileged access, password policies, and periodic access reviews.
  • Monitor security alerts and investigate suspicious activity involving user accounts, devices, email, networks, and cloud applications.
  • Respond to phishing, malware, unauthorised access, data loss, and other security incidents in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform vulnerability checks, track remediation activities, and ensure critical security updates are implemented promptly.
  • Review access requests and apply least-privilege and role-based access principles.
  • Assist with security risk assessments, internal reviews, audits, evidence collection, and remediation tracking.
  • Conduct security awareness activities and provide practical guidance on phishing, passwords, data handling, and safe technology use.
  • Support backup, recovery, business continuity, and incident response testing.
  • Identify recurring technical and security risks and recommend improvements to systems, controls, and workflows.

Requirements

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in IT support, system administration, infrastructure support, cybersecurity operations, or a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, networking, VPNs, and endpoint devices.
  • Working knowledge of identity and access management, endpoint security, patch management, firewalls, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, and network troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, including phishing prevention, malware response, vulnerability management, encryption, and incident handling.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to explain technical and security matters clearly to non-technical users.
  • Responsible approach to confidential information, privileged access, and business-critical systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-moving environment.
  • Professional working proficiency in English and Mandarin.
