IT Transformation Project Specialist
Role Overview
We are looking for an IT Transformation Project Specialist who can own and drive in-house IT systems and transformation initiatives end-to-end.
This role is not a classic Project Manager or PMO role.
You will work closely with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to analyse existing systems, design improvements, and deliver practical, high-impact solutions.
The focus is on system ownership, data understanding, and delivery, rather than status reporting or vendor coordination.
What You Will Do
Own IT Transformation Initiatives
- Take end-to-end ownership of IT transformation initiatives, from problem definition and solution design to delivery and post-go-live optimisation
- Define scope, outcomes, and business value, not just timelines
In-House Systems & Digital Solutions
- Work hands-on with custom / in-house applications, internal tools, and digital platforms
- Analyse existing systems to identify functional gaps, data issues, and improvement opportunities
- Partner directly with developers and technical teams to translate requirements into working solutions
System & Data Understanding
- Analyse and explain:
- System architecture
- Data models (tables, relationships, data flows)
- Integration points and dependencies
- Support system design, enhancement prioritisation, and solution validation
Delivery & SDLC Ownership
- Drive initiatives across the full SDLC: requirements design build test deploy optimise
- Actively participate in UAT, SIT, release planning, and post-implementation reviews
- Ensure delivered solutions meet business needs and operational realities
Stakeholder & Change Management
- Engage with business users to clarify needs, manage expectations, and support adoption
- Communicate clearly and confidently without relying on scripts or slides
- Support change rollout and continuous improvement
What We Are Looking For (Must-Have)
Profile
- BA + PM hybrid profile (not PM-only, not PMO)
- Comfortable owning systems and outcomes, not just tasks
- Experience working directly with developers
Technical & System Skills
- Experience with custom / in-house applications
- Able to explain:
- Basic system architecture
- Data models (ERD, tables, relationships)
- Solid understanding of SDLC beyond vendor tools
- Experience with APIs, integrations, or backend systems is a strong advantage
Delivery Mindset
- Can clearly articulate:
- Scope
- Outcomes
- Business value
- Hands-on, pragmatic, and solution-oriented
Red Flags (Not a Fit)
- PMO / status-reporting Project Managers
- Infrastructure / network-only backgrounds
- ERP-only or vendor-tool-only profiles
- Candidates unable to explain system logic or data structures
- Heavy PowerPoint, light system ownership
Experience & Education
- Typically 5+ years experience in IT transformation, system delivery, business analysis, or technical delivery roles
- University degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Languages
- English (mandatory)
- Additional languages are a plus
Why Join Us
- Opportunity to own real systems, not just manage projects
- Work closely with technical and business leaders
- Drive meaningful IT transformation with visible impact
