Java Developer (Card IT)

JOB PURPOSE:

• A Java Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications using Java technologies, with a strong focus on Spring Boot and modern frameworks. The role focuses on building scalable, secure, and high-performing software solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business requirements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & OUTCOMES:

• Architecture & Design: Collaborate with the Solution Architect, Functional Solution Analyst, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs.
• Development & Implementation: Involves designing, coding, and deploying Java applications based on business requirements, ensuring scalability, security, and seamless integration with databases, APIs, and other systems while following best practices for architecture and performance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, Project Managers, and DevOps Engineers to align project goals.

Person & Skillset Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field is desired.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in related field.
• Strong proficiency in Java SE/EE, Spring Boot, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, or Java EE.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle).
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Exposure to front-end technologies like React, Angular, or Vue.js is beneficial.
• Understanding of security best practices in software development.
• Knowledge of containerization and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
