If Insurance (Previously known as Topdanmark) is the largest P&C insurance company in the Nordic markets. We cover Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and the Baltic countries with a market share of about 20%. In total, we are 10,000 people out of which about 1,500 work in IT. We have about 4 million customers and handle a total throughput of 2 million claims every year; we process 50% of all claims within the first 24hr after the customer has reported it to us. Key Responsibilities:

As a Software Developer at If Insurance in the non-life insurance policy administration domain, your primary focus will be on the design, configuration, development, and unit testing of solutions using Guidewire PolicyCenter.

Key Responsibilities:

Contribute at every stage of the software development lifecycle

Configure and customize Guidewire PolicyCenter functionalities to meet specific business requirements, ensuring accurate and efficient billing processes

Design, implement, and maintain Gosu-based/Java-based applications

Analyze user requirements to clearly define business objectives

Envision and define system features and functionality, actively participating in workshops

Ensure that application designs align with business goals

Develop and test software, participating in peer code reviews

Identify and resolve any technical issues, proficient in debugging within integrated development environments (IDE)

Develop technical designs for application development and maintain comprehensive technical documentation

Write well-designed and testable code

Qualifications

Must Have:

OOP mindset

Proven years of experience using Java

Has good experience of source control systems preferably Git, (others are acceptable, such as Subversion (SVN), TFS/Azure DevOps and CVS)

Good exposure to REST / SOAP

Familiar with CI/CD such as Jenkins

SQL and Database design experience

Good to Have

Any Guidewire experience

Knowledge of Gosu programming language

Basic knowledge of insurance products and processes

AWS Cloud experience

Worked in a Scrum team or Agile environment

Helps and works well with junior team members, contributes to team efforts, and is easy to approach

Communicates effectively within and outside the team

Education

B.S. or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another technical field.
