Our client is a progressive Australian accounting and advisory firm is seeking ambitious Graduate and Junior Accountants who are interested in developing long-term careers within a modern, technology-driven accounting firm. This role will provide exposure to Australian accounting and taxation services, structured training, professional development opportunities, and a clear pathway for career progression based on capability and performance. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate curiosity, accountability, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Accounting Support

  • Assist with preparation of financial statements.
  • Perform bookkeeping and reconciliations.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and workpapers.
  • Assist with BAS preparation activities.
  • Support payroll administration tasks.
  • Assist with document management and file maintenance.

Compliance Support

  • Assist with ATO correspondence.
  • Gather and organise client information.
  • Support tax return preparation processes.
  • Maintain workflow and compliance records.

Operational Support

  • Support accounting and compliance teams with day-to-day activities.
  • Follow documented procedures and quality standards.
  • Perform data preparation and validation activities.
  • Participate in training and ongoing professional development initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (or near completion).
  • Strong academic background and accounting fundamentals.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Effective organisation and time management skills.
  • Ability to follow procedures and seek guidance when required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.

Desirable

  • Internship or practical accounting experience.
  • Exposure to Xero or cloud accounting systems.
  • Bookkeeping experience.
  • Interest in technology, AI, and automation.
