Junior Legal Counsel, Commercial MNC

About the role

We are working with a commercial MNC seeking a junior legal counsel (2–5 PQE) to join its in-house legal team in Malaysia. This is a great opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer to gain broad exposure to in-house legal work in a fast-paced, international business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including service agreements and operational contracts
• Provide day-to-day legal support to business and operational teams
• Assist with legal and contractual matters across regional stakeholders
• Support general business-as-usual legal work and internal projects
• Contribute to legal process improvements and contract standardisation initiatives
• Exposure to technology-related matters where relevant

Requirements

• 2–5 years post-qualification experience in corporate/commercial or related practice areas
• Strong drafting, contract review, and negotiation skills
• Mandarin language capability is advantageous but not essential
• Commercially minded with a practical, solutions-oriented approach
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
