The Junior Rigging TD supports the rigging team in creating and maintaining animation rigs for characters, creatures, vehicles, and props. This role is ideal for candidates with foundational rigging knowledge who are ready to grow technically and artistically in a production environment.
Responsibilities
Assist in creating, refining, and maintaining animation rigs for characters, creatures, vehicles, and props.
Support the streamlining of CG asset rigging workflows, pipelines, and processes.
Work closely with animation, modeling and lighting teams to develop intuitive, responsive rigs
Troubleshoot rigging and deformation issues for artists across multiple disciplines.
Help document rigging workflows, tools, and best practices.
Contribute to achieving the directors creative vision through effective rigging and technical problem-solving.
Requirements
12 years of relevant experience OR strong internship/project experience in rigging.
Basic to solid understanding of anatomy, deformation, and animation principles.
Familiarity with the 3D animation workflow and production pipeline.
Working knowledge of Maya.
Ability to collaborate positively with team members from various departments.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong visual and artistic sensibility.
Good to Have
Scripting skills in MEL or Python
Experience in animation production workflow for episodic tv series.
Experience with ShotGrid (Autodesk Flow Production Tracking).
Exposure to Unreal Engine, Houdini, Blender, or other related software.
Experience with R&D tasks such as documenting production tools, creating templates, or developing pipelines.
