Junior Site Supervisor

About the Role

Northern Borneo Engineering is looking for a Junior Site Supervisor to join our mobile telecommunications infrastructure implementation team.

If you have experience in electrical installation, outdoor utility works, M&E, ELV, cable infrastructure or construction-related works, we would like to hear from you.

Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply. We believe in developing the next generation of skilled technical talent through structured On-the-Job Training (OJT) and hands-on exposure to real 4G, 5G, DAS and In-Building Coverage projects.

Prior telecommunications or DAS experience is an advantage, but not compulsory. We will train candidates with the right foundation, attitude and willingness to learn.

What You'll Be Doing

Working closely with our Project Engineers and project team, you will:

• Supervise daily site activities carried out by technicians and subcontractors.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, access and work areas before work begins.
• Monitor daily planned vs actual progress and follow up on outstanding work.
• Supervise electrical and infrastructure works including AC/DC cabling, cable trays, trunking, containment and cable routing.
• Progressively learn to supervise RF coaxial cables, fibre optics, antennas and DAS infrastructure.
• Coordinate temporary ceiling openings, above-ceiling works and proper making-good and housekeeping.
• Ensure installation follows approved drawings and Project Engineer instructions.
• Work closely with HSE personnel to maintain safe working practices and site discipline.
• Capture before/during/after photographs and maintain proper daily progress records.
• Identify access problems, material shortages, technical constraints and delays — and escalate them early.
• Coordinate professionally with Project Engineers, HSE personnel, subcontractor team leads, Building Managers and building PICs.
• Maintain clear and transparent project communication through the relevant site and project WhatsApp groups.

Electrical & Utility Infrastructure → RF & Fibre Cabling → DAS Installation → 4G/5G Systems → Testing → Integration → Rectification → Project Handover

Our objective is not simply to fill a Site Supervisor position. We want to develop people who can eventually take ownership of telecommunications infrastructure implementation projects.

Who Should Apply

We welcome candidates with 1–3 years of practical site experience, especially from:

• Electrical installation
• Outdoor utility works
• M&E / ELV
• Electrical or cable infrastructure
• Cable tray and containment works
• Building services
• Construction/infrastructure projects

A Certificate, SKM or Diploma in Electrical, Electrical Engineering, M&E, Construction, Telecommunications or a related technical discipline is an advantage.

Fresh graduates with a relevant technical qualification are encouraged to apply.

Beyond qualifications, we are looking for someone who is responsible, disciplined, willing to learn, comfortable supervising people, able to communicate clearly and prepared to take ownership of assigned work.

⚠️ Important: This Is Primarily a Night-Site Role

Please consider this carefully before applying.

Approximately 80% of this position involves site work, and because many projects are carried out inside operational malls, hospitals, corporate towers and commercial buildings, much of the installation work takes place at night.

Typical approved site work window: anytime between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM.

Candidates must therefore be comfortable with night work, flexible project hours, above-ceiling and riser environments, travelling between sites and occasional outstation assignments.

What We Offer

Monthly Salary Package: RM2,500 – RM3,500

The overall package varies according to experience, qualifications, capability, work assignments, OT and applicable allowances.

It includes or may include:

• Basic salary
• Overtime (OT) in accordance with the Employment Act
• Site/outstation allowances, where applicable
• EPF & SOCSO contributions
• Project-related incentives/benefits, where applicable
• Structured OJT and exposure to real 4G/5G telecommunications infrastructure projects

The advertised RM2,500–RM3,500 is the overall salary package range and should not be interpreted as the basic salary alone.
