Job Description

KEF is a British hi-fi audio brand with a long track record of audio technology innovation and award-winning products, serving customers across Asia Pacific, Europe, North America, and the Middle East. KEF products are technically sophisticated — acoustic algorithms, firmware behaviours, app ecosystems, wireless protocols, and physical controls all working together. Your role is to help turn this complexity into clarity.

This is a UX role for someone who enjoys logic, systems, structure, and technical problem‑solving just as much as visual design. You'll work across hardware, firmware, and software, shaping how users interact with our next generation of products. While the role includes visual design, the core focus is on Quality Assurance, cross‑functional collaboration and UX architecture design.

*** Please include your portfolio link in your CV for review***

Responsibilities:

Technical QA & Verification

  • Test and verify UX implementations to ensure they match defined specifications
  • Reproduce and analyse field‑reported issues, then communicate findings to developers
  • Validate user flows and behaviours across hardware, firmware, and software environments
  • Work with engineering teams to ensure UX logic is implemented accurately and consistently

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with physical product designers to champion usability throughout development
  • Work closely with software, firmware, and app developers to push UX forward while balancing technical constraints
  • Collaborate with acoustic engineers to translate acoustic behaviours into intuitive user experiences
  • Help shape how KEF presents complex technical concepts in a way users can easily understand

UX Architecture & System Behaviour

  • Design interaction flows, logic maps, and UX briefs for physical products, firmware, and mobile apps
  • Create visual deliverables (wireframes, mockups, GUI elements) that communicate complex behaviours clearly
  • Translate technical requirements into user‑friendly concepts and structured documentation
  • Contribute to UX guidelines that ensure consistent behaviour across KEF's product ecosystem

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Graphic Design, Interactive / Media Design, Computer Science or Engineering
  • 1–2 years of experience in physical product applications design
  • Strong logical reasoning with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly insights
  • Deeply curious about the intersection of physical, digital, and acoustic spaces, with a commitment to user-centered design
  • Excellent cross-disciplinary communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Graphic or UI design is highly advantageous
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Chinese is a significant asset
