About KPMG in Malaysia's Assurance – Branches

At KPMG in Malaysia, Audit has evolved into a dynamic, value‑driven function that goes well beyond statutory compliance. Our Assurance practice combines robust audit methodologies, strong analytical capabilities, and a deep understanding of evolving regulatory and business environments to deliver insights that strengthen governance and build trust.

Our Branch Offices across Malaysia:

  • Penang
  • Ipoh
  • Johor Bahru
  • Kuching
  • Miri
  • Labuan
  • Kota Kinabalu

play a critical role in supporting regional businesses and industries across Malaysia. These offices work closely with local clients, offering assurance services that are globally consistent yet tailored to the unique needs of regional markets.

Our purpose is simple yet powerful — to create value‑driven insights that truly Make the Difference for our clients, stakeholders, and communities. As an experienced professional based in one of our branch offices, you will play a key role in shaping audit quality, driving engagement outcomes, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to the continued growth and evolution of KPMG's audit practice within a close‑knit and collaborative regional team environment.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

This role offers experienced audit professionals the opportunity to step into greater responsibility while continuing to grow technical depth and leadership capability.

  • Join one of Malaysia's most established and reputable audit practices
  • Gain exposure to a broad range of industries across Financial Services and General Audit
  • Take on leadership responsibilities early, including mentoring and guiding junior team members
  • Work in a collaborative, learning‑focused environment that supports continuous development
  • Enhance your professional judgement, technical expertise, and client‑facing skills within a global professional services firm

What Can You Expect

As an experienced audit professional, you will take on significant responsibilities that contribute directly to the planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements.

You can expect to:

  • Plan audit engagements and allocate tasks to supporting staff
  • Perform internal control testing and analytical review procedures
  • Ensure financial statements comply with statutory requirements
  • Draft audit reports and management letters
  • Prepare consolidation accounts, tax and deferred tax computations
  • Prepare overseas reporting packages for group reporting purposes

You will work closely with audit leaders, engage directly with clients across diverse industries, and handle increasingly complex technical and operational matters as part of your professional growth.

How Will You Make Your Mark

In this role, you will play a key part in driving audit quality and strengthening client confidence by:

  • Demonstrating strong leadership and managerial potential, guiding and developing junior team members
  • Applying analytical thinking and professional skepticism to identify risks and improvement areas
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships through clear communication and high‑quality deliverables
  • Leading by example by upholding KPMG's values — Integrity, Excellence, Courage, Togetherness, and Accountability
  • Contributing to engagement success through initiative, problem‑solving, and teamwork

Your impact will be felt not only in individual engagements, but also in the development of people and the continued strength of the practice.

Who We're Looking For:

We are seeking committed and analytical professionals who are ready to step up, lead, and deliver high quality audit services.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a relevant field from leading universities is an advantage (Candidates who hold or are pursuing recognized professional qualifications such as ACCA, ICAEW, CPA Australia, MICPA CAANZ, or equivalent are encouraged to apply)
  • Strong managerial potential with excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate leadership within team settings
  • Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant audit experience

What to Expect in the Selection Journey:

We want you to feel empowered and informed throughout the process:
