Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Business Analyst Lead with deep expertise in the Insurance domain to lead business analysis, stakeholder engagement, requirements management, and solution design. The ideal candidate will act as the bridge between business, technology, and product teamsensuring successful delivery of complex insurance transformation programs.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

  • Lead end-to-end business analysis activities across insurance projects, including discovery, requirement gathering, functional design, and documentation.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand product workflows, underwriting, claims, policy administration, billing, and compliance requirements.
  • Translate complex business needs into clear functional specifications, user stories, use cases, and process flows.
  • Conduct gap analysis, impact assessment, and feasibility studies for new insurance initiatives.

Domain Expertise & Solutioning

  • Provide subject matter expertise in insurance processes, regulatory frameworks, policy lifecycle, claims lifecycle, and rating/quoting workflows.
  • Work closely with architects and product teams to design scalable, compliant, and customer-centric insurance solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend enhancements to existing systems, processes, and digital platforms (Policy Admin, Claims, CRM, BPM, Underwriting systems).

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead a team of business analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and quality assurance of deliverables.
  • Manage stakeholder communication across business, IT, product, operations, and external partners.
  • Facilitate workshops, requirement walkthroughs, sprint planning sessions, and functional review meetings.

Project Delivery & Documentation

  • Drive end-to-end delivery for BA workstreams within Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Prepare BRDs, FSDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, wireframes, and UAT artifacts.
  • Coordinate UAT, test planning, defect triage, and user training.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory, compliance, and data governance requirements.

Process Improvement & Strategy

  • Identify process inefficiencies and propose automation, digitization, or optimization opportunities.
  • Support product roadmap planning, backlog prioritization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to creating BA frameworks, standards, and best practices within the organization.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 5 years in a lead or senior role.
  • Strong expertise in Insurance domain (Life, Health, P&C, Commercial, Reinsurance).
  • Deep understanding of policy administration, underwriting, claims management, compliance, and insurance operations.
  • Hands-on experience with insurance platforms (Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, TIA, SAS, or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience in preparing BRDs, FSDs, user stories, process flows, and UAT scripts.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead teams, manage multiple workstreams, and work with senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification: CBAP, CCBA, CSPO, CSM, AINS, CPCU, or other insurance/BA certifications.
  • Experience in digital insurance transformation, legacy modernization, API integrations, or cloud-based insurance platforms.
  • Knowledge of data analytics, reporting tools, and BI systems.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies.
