Our client, a leading global sportswear brand, is seeking a Lead Business Planner/Merchandising Manager to drive topline growth, margin performance, and inventory productivity across the Southeast Asia region. This role will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to shape business strategy within a fast-growing and dynamic marketplace, balancing consumer demand with profitable and sustainable growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead forecasting and performance tracking across pre-, during-, and post-season for retail and wholesale sales, margin, and inventory.
- Develop seasonal stock and sales plans, Open-to-Buy (OTB), and inventory forecasts aligned with regional strategy.
- Translate top-down financial targets into actionable bottom-up assortment and SKU planning frameworks.
- Conduct bi-weekly and monthly business reviews, identifying opportunities, risks, and corrective actions across the marketplace.
- Reflect aligned actions into monthly forecast submissions with clear understanding of end-to-end enterprise impact.
- Partner closely with Assortment Planning, Merchandising, Finance, Marketing, and Marketplace teams to deliver shared business objectives.
- Lead selected projects and initiatives within the regional Business Planning community.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience in retail planning, merchandising, buying, or demand/supply planning.
- Strong understanding of retail and financial metrics including sell-in, sell-through, margin, inventory, SSP, OTB, and KPI management.
- Proven ability to interpret data, build forecasts, and influence decision-making to drive profitable growth.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a matrix environment.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables); experience with planning tools and merchandise management systems preferred.
- Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving, communication, and influencing capabilities.
