About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned and proactive Senior Database Administrator (Team Lead) to join our team. In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of skilled DBAs, ensuring the smooth operation and optimal performance of enterprise-level database platforms. You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases, while also supporting MySQL and DB2 environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 3 support for Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, and DB2 databases in production environments.
- Lead, guide, and coach a team of Database Administrators to ensure effective and efficient daily operations.
- Manage and execute database upgrades, migrations, patching, hardening, and routine maintenance.
- Oversee incident and change management processes in compliance with internal policies and SLAs.
- Coordinate response efforts during major incidents and critical alerts, including root cause analysis and recovery planning.
- Monitor team workload, assign service requests, and manage team schedules, including standby and on-call duties.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports on database performance, capacity, risks, and issues.
- Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
- Maintain audit readiness by preparing documentation and addressing findings.
- Drive continuous improvement through the identification and implementation of process enhancements and automation opportunities.
- Promote a culture of risk awareness and ensure operations are aligned with compliance and security standards.
- Conduct performance reviews, define clear KPIs, and support the professional development of team members.
- Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years hands-on experience in Oracle and Microsoft SQL database administration.
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in leading and managing technical teams.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
