About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned and proactive Senior Database Administrator (Team Lead) to join our team. In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of skilled DBAs, ensuring the smooth operation and optimal performance of enterprise-level database platforms. You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases, while also supporting MySQL and DB2 environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 3 support for Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, and DB2 databases in production environments.
  • Lead, guide, and coach a team of Database Administrators to ensure effective and efficient daily operations.
  • Manage and execute database upgrades, migrations, patching, hardening, and routine maintenance.
  • Oversee incident and change management processes in compliance with internal policies and SLAs.
  • Coordinate response efforts during major incidents and critical alerts, including root cause analysis and recovery planning.
  • Monitor team workload, assign service requests, and manage team schedules, including standby and on-call duties.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports on database performance, capacity, risks, and issues.
  • Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
  • Maintain audit readiness by preparing documentation and addressing findings.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the identification and implementation of process enhancements and automation opportunities.
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness and ensure operations are aligned with compliance and security standards.
  • Conduct performance reviews, define clear KPIs, and support the professional development of team members.

  • Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years hands-on experience in Oracle and Microsoft SQL database administration.
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing technical teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
  • Effective communicator and collaborative leader who fosters team success.
  • High standards of integrity, accountability, and a strong drive for continuous improvement.
