Job Description
About the Role:
This role is responsible for the strategy, structuring, and performance of the Bank's Investment Account portfolio in alignment with the overall liabilities strategy and direction. The role sets profit-sharing ratio (PSR) and expected profit rate recommendations, owns the PER/IRR, cannibalization, and funding impact model for ALCO and Shariah Advisory approval, and leads Investment Account product development, campaign execution, and regulatory / Shariah governance. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy in execution and recommendation, within the strategic parameters, risk appetite, and delegated authority limits set by the Bank.
What you will do:
- Responsible for the end-to-end strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management of the Bank's Investment Account portfolio (URIA and other IA-i variants), including product development, structuring, PSR structures, and disclosure frameworks, aligned to the funding and liabilities strategy,
- Lead development of new Investment Account variants (tenor, PSR, underlying asset structures) from business case and Shariah structuring through Risk / ALCO / Shariah Advisory approval to launch, owning the end-to-end approval package.
- Own portfolio performance management (AUM growth, mix, redemption / attrition, profit distribution outcomes), directing corrective action and escalating strategic risks and material shifts with commercial recommendations.
- Manage the PSR and expected profit rate strategy for the Investment Account portfolio, and present recommendations to ALCO and Shariah Advisory for approval.
- Set competitive positioning recommendations for Investment Account profit rates based on market and competitor intelligence; recommend promotional rate mechanics and velocity / limit controls for campaign-linked products for approval by ALCO / the relevant approving committee.
- Own the funding cost and PER reserve budget for the Investment Account portfolio, managing trade-offs between growth, margin, and reserve adequacy, and escalating adverse variance promptly.
- Responsible for the Investment Account-side strategy and mechanics for IA-linked campaigns (profit rate structure, funding cost, eligibility rules), including the campaign funding cost-benefit case and accountability for campaign-driven Investment Account balance growth against target.
- Direct input into Bank-wide campaign strategy on Investment Account product constraints, regulatory requirements, and Shariah considerations.
- Prepare and manage senior management, Board, and regulatory reporting relating to the Investment Account portfolio, translating performance data into commercial insight and recommendations.
- Own the Investment Account portfolio's compliance with Bank Negara Malaysia's Investment Account Framework (IAF) under IFSA 2013, including capital non-guarantee disclosure, fair dealing, and data privacy requirements.
- Act as primary point of contact with Shariah Advisory and Compliance on Investment Account governance matters and own the governance documentation and approval trail for product, pricing, and marketing decisions, ensuring audit-readiness.
- Represent the Bank on Investment Account-related matters with Bank Negara Malaysia, AIBIM, and relevant industry bodies as required.
- Lead, coach, and develop any future Investment Account team members, setting objectives aligned to portfolio KPIs, reviewing work output, and building technical and commercial capability.
- Provide support on Investment Account-related workforce planning as the portfolio and team scale.
- Own the AUM growth, funding cost, and PER / IRR reserve targets for the Investment Account portfolio against approved budget, and accountable for performance.
- Own fee income contribution opportunities from Investment Account-linked products and services, identifying and driving optimization initiatives with stakeholders.

- The job holder may also be required to undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the Immediate Leader or Head of Division consistent with the role's scope and level of authority.
Skills and experience you possess:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional certification in Islamic finance (e.g., CIFP, IBFIM, AICB) is an advantage.
- At least 8 years experience in banking or financial services, including at least 4 – 5 years in Islamic liabilities / deposit or investment account product management, PSR / PER-IRR structuring, or Treasury ALM, with direct exposure to Bank Negara Malaysia's Investment Account Framework and IFSA 2013. Prior people management experience required.
- Proven ability to set and defend PSR / PER-IRR and funding strategy at ALCO / Shariah Advisory level.
- Strong financial and quantitative modelling skills.
- Senior stakeholder management and influencing skills, able to represent the Investment Account function with Treasury, Risk, Shariah Advisory, Legal, Compliance, and external regulators, largely without direct line authority.
- People leadership and coaching experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communicator, able to prepare Board- and ALCO-ready proposals.
- Strategic and commercially minded, comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
