Responsibilities
- Code Quality: Write highly testable, automatable, and performant code across the entire SDLC using high coding standards and software best practices.
- Product Development: Develop products, deliver features, and update according to the product roadmap.
- Feature Design: Develop and review feature design documents and provide input/updates to solution specifications.
- Team Leadership: Drive daily meetings, planning, retrospectives, etc., and help the team adopt engineering standards.
- Mentorship: Guide and support the professional and career development of team members.
- Adopt New Technologies: Be open to adopting new technologies and approaches as projects evolve, especially those related to GenAI advancements.
- Stay Current: Stay at the forefront of industry trends by keeping abreast of the latest GenAI advancements and leveraging cutting-edge development.
- Team Support: Assist the team with daily work and ensure smooth execution of tasks.
Requirements
- Experience: 10+ years of software development experience, with proficiency in Java 8 or higher.
- Enterprise-Grade Applications: Experience in building enterprise-grade applications using Java and Microservices (J2EE/JavaEE/Spring/Spring Boot).
- Technologies: Strong experience in Java Spring Boot, Core Java, API, Microservices, Angular, and React JS.
- Database: Strong database experience in PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, and working with relational databases using SQL and PL/SQL.
- Agile Practices: Experience delivering high-cadence applications using Agile methodologies, test-first development approaches, CI/CD pipelines, and Git version control.
- Security: Experience with Java Spring security (JWT, CSRF, Method-based security, RBAC).
- ORMs: Familiarity with ORMs like Hibernate or JPA.
- Multithreading: Knowledge and experience in Java multithreading and concurrency.
- Best Practices: Implementing programming best practices around scalability, automation, optimization, performance, and availability.
- Microservices: Experience with design patterns for microservices and handling high-throughput microservices, concurrency, and event-based processing.
- TDD: Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Messaging: Familiarity with messaging frameworks like IBM MQ and Kafka.
- DevOps & Tools: Strong experience in SDLC, DevOps processes, CI/CD tools, Git, etc.
- GenAI Technologies: Experience with GenAI technologies, such as using the OpenAI API with GPT LLMs.
- Cloud & Deployment: Hands-on experience with cloud deployment and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm).
- Scrum & XP: Knowledge of Scrum and XP methodologies, with the ability to work in rapidly changing environments.
Software Design
- Architectural Patterns: Solid background in designing and developing solutions using best practices, including monolithic, microservices, and event-driven architectural styles.
Quality Assurance
- Quality Improvement: Proven experience in driving quality improvements for design and implementation decisions within the team.
Software Deployment
- Deployment Practices: Hands-on experience with software deployment and configuration in the cloud, including pipelines and container orchestrators (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm).
Leadership
- Team Leadership: Lead development teams, improve decision-making in design, architecture, solution development, and code review processes.
