Job Description

The post holder is responsible for overseeing and supporting all materials management activities through the effective use of the Company's approved systems to ensure the availability, accuracy, control, and efficient movement of materials required to support operational requirements. The role is accountable for maintaining inventory integrity, optimizing materials processes, and developing management reports that provide clear visibility of inventory status and performance across the fleet.

The Materials Lead provides leadership, guidance, and technical support to Offshore Materials Administrators (OMAs) and offshore personnel, ensuring all materials management activities are carried out in compliance with Company policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (QHSSE) standards. The position also plays a key role in driving continuous improvement, inventory optimization, risk management, and forward planning initiatives to support operational readiness and business objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead and coach offshore materials and warehouse personnel, driving competency development and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with Company procedures, TMS requirements, regulatory and QHSSE standards.
  • Manage inventory accuracy, material master data, stock counts, reconciliations and discrepancy resolution.
  • Drive inventory optimisation, including management of excess, obsolete, surplus and slow-moving materials.
  • Improve warehouse efficiency, materials handling processes and standardisation across operations.
  • Support audits, inspections, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as the key focal point for material-related matters between Operations and Management.
  • Support ERP/materials management system enhancements and material catalogue governance.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational readiness, quality and safety.
  • Support the Materials Manager and act as deputy when required.

QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS / RELEVENT EXPERIENCE

  • Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent qualification.
  • 8 years experience in Materials Management, Warehouse Operations, Inventory Control or Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience in offshore drilling, oil & gas, marine or industrial operations is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP and inventory management systems, preferably IPS and Oracle Fusion.
  • Strong leadership, team development and stakeholder management skills.
  • Solid knowledge of inventory and warehouse operations, stock control and materials management systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and risk management capabilities.
  • Good understanding of QHSSE, audit and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset with a proactive and forward-planning approach.
