About the Role

As the Senior Principal Business Solution Architect, you will serve as a strategic bridge between business strategy and technology execution, ensuring that architectural solutions translate business objectives into measurable outcomes. You will apply both business acumen and architectural discipline to drive enterprisewide solution and business capability design, shaping initiatives that enhance business agility, operational resilience, and longterm value creation.
You will be accountable for aligning architecture decisions with enterprise priorities, guiding transformation programs, governance, and assurance of endtoend solutions that span across domains, enabling business transformation and operational excellence. This includes driving architectural blueprints that support scalability, simplification, and innovation across the organization.
In this role, you will report to the Head of Architecture (HOD) and work closely with senior leadership, solution architects, application portfolio leads, and business stakeholders to maximize value realisation from technology investments. You will champion architecture and technology governance to ensure design integrity and alignment with enterprise standards, digital strategy, and the futurestate target architecture.
You will be responsible and accountable for identifying the best technology solution capability roadmap to address business problems in collaboration with the portfolio solution architects team. This includes describing the structure, characteristics, behaviour, and other design aspects to project stakeholders defining solution features, phases, and requirements and providing specifications used to define, manage, and deliver the solution.
You will also lead and provide overall technology business portfolio detail and endtoend solution design for business cases, projects, change requests (CRs), operational fixes, and strategic enhancements to ensure that solution designs align with business and technical user requirements. You will provide architecture assurance aligned with the target blueprint architecture, roadmap, and standards. The artefacts you produce will serve as reference architecture for development and operational teams.
Ultimately, your leadership will bridge the gap between business ambition and technology realisation, helping the organization translate strategic intent into executable, valuedriven outcomes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Strategic Alignment and Business Partnership

  • Act as the key bridge between business strategy and technology execution, ensuring architectural decisions directly support enterprise goals and measurable business outcomes.

  • Lead and translate business requirements into technical requirements, ensuring accuracy and coverage across both business and technical needs.

  • Partner with senior leadership, business stakeholders, and product owners to translate strategic objectives into executable architecture blueprints and technology roadmaps.

  • Drive solution strategies that enhance business agility, operational excellence, and cost optimisation.

Enterprise Solution Design and Governance

  • Own the ARB process and lead the team in producing required architectural and solution design artefacts to support business case approvals and endtoend development requirements aligned with highlevel design (HLD), TBP, and ADR guidelines.

  • Provide highlevel solution design (HLD) to address endtoend technical requirements aligned with business needs, enabling subsequent development of lowlevel designs (LLDs) by solution architects and development teams.

  • Present TBPs at the ARB Forum for architecture approval to ensure alignment with IT strategy, roadmap, standards, and investment. Prepare and present ADRs at the ARB Forum for change requests to ensure that existing services and products remain unaffected.

  • Identify, present, and demonstrate innovation and emerging technologies to the Technology Council and relevant communities.

  • Lead and plan solution design readiness based on business stream priorities and delivery timelines.

  • Review, analyse, and endorse technical documents such as Impact Analyses, Functional Designs, and Interface Agreements to ensure alignment and agreement from all stakeholders.

  • Review and interpret Business Requirements Specifications (BRS) to ensure alignment between business expectations and the current technology landscape.

  • Provide input into the strategic direction of technology investments to support enterprise architecture development and maximise return on investment.

  • Within the enterprise architecture, define and design technology solutions that help the business achieve its objectives.

  • Work collaboratively to contribute to the achievement of business outcomes across multiple teams.

  • Participate in meetings to gather perspectives from cross-functional groups, share information, and resolve issues through appropriate technical design solutions.

  • Coordinate and schedule discussions with development teams and business users to confirm solution alignment with business requirements.

  • Collaborate with technical teams to resolve challenges throughout the solution lifecycle.

  • Guide and mentor junior team members, establishing best practices and architectural blueprints.

  • Engage, influence, and manage senior leadership and business users to ensure architectures are aligned with business needs.

  • Serve as the business architecture subject matter expert, responsible for technical design decisions.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Information Technology, or a related discipline.

  • At least 8 years of professional experience in business IT and solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or technical product management across multiple domains, including web or application development experience in insurance, design, user experience, digital, IoT, or computing fields is an advantage.

  • Strong background in cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred), DevOps, integration, and enterprise applications.

  • Wellversed in digital innovation, with the ability to transform vision and ideas into practical solutions within existing constraints must be able to work handson.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Understanding of the product management lifecycle and web/application best practices, with proven experience in software architecture design.

  • Ability to organise, prioritise, and manage multiple projects and stakeholders.

  • Understanding of various methodologies (Agile to Waterfall) and common software development practices.
