Role Description We have an opening for a Legal Associate / Pupil in the Corporate & Advisory practice division to support our expanding transactional practuce. The candidate will support the firm's corporate abd advisory practice by assisting in legal research, drafting contracts, opinions, carrying out due diligence. You will also work alongside the disputes team in contentious matters involving corporate clients. Your work will involve research, analyzing complex documents and fact patterns, attending client meetings under supervision, and coordinating with senior lawyers on strategy. The position is full time and on-site, based in WP. Kuala Lumpur, and requires close collaboration with colleagues across practice areas and, where relevant, cross-border matters.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law, with interest in contract, commercial, company, employment law.
- Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including systematic drafting skils of legal documents, contracts, opinions, and correspondence.
- Robust Analytical Skills.
- Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal, for client-facing work, court attendance, and internal collaboration.
- Ability to identify, assess, and manage Legal Issues across multiple practice areas and jurisdictions.
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or equivalent; CLP, Bar, or relevant professional qualification in progress or completed is required.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail, with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with demanding timelines and exposure to complex, high-value matters.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and MS Office; additional language skills and prior internship or pupillage experience are beneficial.
