Responsibilities:
1. Legal Drafting & Documentation:
- Draft board and shareholder resolutions, corporate governance documents and compliance checklists.
- Assist in drafting and updating SOPs, internal guidelines and compliance manuals.
2. Research & Analysis:
- Conduct regulatory research across Singapore (MAS), Hong Kong (SFC), Switzerland (FINMA), Australia (ASIC), the UAE (DFSA/ADGM) and other applicable jurisdictions.
- Compile and summarize laws, filing obligations and compliance requirements into practical internal guides.
- Monitor regulatory developments and flag relevant changes.
3. Follow-Up & Tracking
- Track statutory and regulatory deadlines and follow up with responsible parties to ensure timely filings.
- Maintain compliance calendars, registers and trackers across entities.
- Ensure issues raised by regulators, auditors or service providers are monitored and closed out promptly.
4. Coordination & Integration
- Liaise with external service providers (company secretaries, auditors, tax advisers, legal counsel, regulators) across multiple jurisdictions.
- Coordinate with internal teams to integrate compliance processes into day-to-day operations.
- Consolidate governance and compliance reporting for senior management and the General Counsel.
5. Operational Governance Support
- Assist in maintaining entity records and databases across APAC, EMEA and the Middle East.
- Provide administrative and operational support for licensed entities and family office structures.
- Support the General Counsel in strengthening group-wide compliance infrastructure.
6. Ad-hoc Support
- Undertake additional compliance, governance or administrative tasks as may be assigned by management from time to time.
Education:
- LLB graduate (BPC or CLP qualification is advantageous). Other academic or professional qualifications will also be considered where the candidate has relevant experience in compliance, governance or corporate secretarial functions.
- Additional certification in compliance, governance, or company secretarial practice will be viewed favorably.
Experience:
- Pupils who have completed pupillage in a corporate law firm, or candidates with in-house exposure to compliance functions of licensed corporations, are highly preferred.
- 12 years of relevant experience in legal, compliance, corporate secretarial or governance roles is advantageous; fresh graduates with strong aptitude will also be considered.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong drafting skills with attention to detail (resolutions and compliance trackers).
- Organized and methodical, able to juggle multiple deadlines across jurisdictions.
- Good research ability and capacity to summarize laws and regulations clearly.
- Proactive in follow-up and coordination; not afraid to chase for execution/completion.
- High level of integrity, discretion and professional judgment.
Additional Information:
- Willingness to be based in Kuala Lumpur and work across different time zones.
- Candidates will undergo 2 to 3 rounds of interviews with some pre-employment assessment tests as part of the recruitment procedure.
- Kindly note that all new hires will be offered yearly renewable employment contractfor 2 years before conversion to permanent role.
