Job Title: Legal Counsel (Renewable Energy)
Location: Kuala Lumpur

Experience Level: 2-5 years PQE
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and accurate legal advice on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of contracts and agreements related to renewable energy projects, including:
- Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
- Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts
- Operations and Maintenance (O&M) agreements
- Land lease agreements
- Supply and equipment contracts
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and licensing requirements in the energy sector.
- Draft legal correspondence and letters to clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Liaise with external counsel, regulators, and business partners.
- Support dispute resolution, claims management, and litigation strategies in collaboration with external legal counsel as needed.
- Monitor and stay up to date with new regulatory announcements, legal developments, and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance and advise the company proactively.
- Maintain legal governance, risk management, and internal controls.
- Communicate legal advice clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) recognized by Malaysian authorities.
- Qualified to practice in Malaysia (or Commonwealth equivalent), with 25 years PQE.
- Experience in corporate and commercial law, including contract negotiation.
- Knowledge of the energy sector is a strong plus.
- Able to manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced environment.
- High integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive learner.
