About This Role
As a Legal Counsel in Legal department, you will be providing legal support to the organization across the APAC region by advising on a broad range of legal matters, supporting business operations, and assisting in managing legal risks in a practical and commercially focused manner.
WORKING HOURS
- Monday to Friday: 9:00am - 6:00pm
- Saturday to Sunday: Off
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid. 3 days work in office at Q Sentral, 2 days work from home
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and amending agreements, correspondence, and legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and deliver clear, practical, and commercially focused advice to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and achieve organizational objectives.
- Support litigation and dispute matters, including liaising with external counsel and assisting with case management.
- Assist with regulatory and compliance matters, including the preparation and review of regulatory documentation as required.
- Maintain accurate organization, filing, and record-keeping of legal documents and handle general legal administrative tasks.
- Perform other legal duties as assigned from time to time.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Law is required. Admission to the Bar is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience, preferably with a law firm.
- Exposure to regulatory and compliance matters; experience with Bank Negara Malaysia is a strong plus.
- Experience handling litigation and dispute matters and managing external legal counsel.
- Proven experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating corporate and commercial agreements.
- Experience advising on Human Resources and employment-related legal matters.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide practical, risk-based legal advice.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines under pressure.
- High attention to detail and a fact-based, structured approach to decision-making.
