We're seeking a strategic and dynamic Legal Counsel in JB, Tebrau. This role is responsible to support stakeholders within the Venture Group of entities across Malaysia, China, Singapore, Europe and the United States in alignment with the Group's strategic objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing, negotiating and drafting a range of contracts, providing advice and managing disputes and compliance initiatives.

This role reports to Senior Legal Counsel. You will be welcomed into our closely knit team and will be given many opportunities to grow with us.

As a Head, Legal Counsel, You will responsible for:

• Reviewing a range of corporate and commercial contracts such as Manufacturing Services Agreements, Development Agreements, Software License Agreements, etc.
• Marking up commercial contracts against internal guidelines and instructions.
• Preparing contracts to address business issues.
• Carrying out legal research.
• Administering internal policies and processes.
• Supporting the department to strengthen the Group's compliance and governance frameworks with focus areas in export control, privacy, anti-bribery and corruption.

What skills and experiences are we looking:

• Law degree from a reputable law school.
• 2-4 years experience either working in a law firm or an in-house legal team preferably handling corporate and commercial matters.
• Admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.
• Highly motivated individual who can take responsibility over assigned work.
• Able to work independently.
• Keen willingness to learn and develop professionally.
• Excellent command of English and good command of Mandarin. Chinese language skills are required to support on Chinese language contracts.
• Articulate and concise in verbal and written communication
