JOB DESCRIPTION
Legislative
- Review the EPF Act 1991 and its subsidiary legislation and provide the drafting on the new provisions of law or amendments to the existing provisions of law
- Conduct legal research and provide legal advice on statutory interpretation of EPF Act 1991 and its subsidiary legislation
- Identify legal risk and provide legal advice on the new initiatives proposed by EPF throughout pre-implementation and post-implementation phases
- Monitor and coordinate the legislative process end-to-end including the debates in House of Representatives and Senate and gazettement
- Supervise, mentor and support the professional development and performance of junior team members
- Make legislative decisions within delegated authority and articulate recommendations and outcomes to senior management
Legal Documentation
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documentation and correspondence, including ancillary instruments such as letters, emails, legal notices etc.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate legislative consultations including attending meetings, engagements or discussion with working groups and relevant stakeholders such as government ministries, parliamentary bodies and regulatory agencies
- Conduct legal training and provide legal awareness for internal and external stakeholders including preparing training materials
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Malaysian citizen
- Obtain at least a credit in Malay Language and English including oral test at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent as recognized by the Government
- Possess a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (LLB) or equivalent LLB qualifications from any local or overseas higher learning institutions recognised by the Government of Malaysia
- Have at least 10 to 13 years experience in the relevant job description set out above
- Candidates with expertise and experience in the relevant job description set out herein, is an added advantage
- Good communication and presentation skills with excellent command of oral and writing in English and Bahasa Melayu
- Highly motivated and able to work under minimal supervision
- Able to work independently and as part of/in a team and committed to work under tight deadline
- Meticulous and attention to details
