Your Role: Key Accountabilities

  • Special Projects & Supporting General Counsel - Support the General Counsel on special projects, cross-functional initiatives, and IPO readiness activities, acting as a key execution lead to drive execution and outcomes
  • M&A& Strategic Transactions - Lead and support complex corporate transactions, including M&A, restructurings, fundraising and refinancing. Partner closely with the General Counsel to manage due diligence, transaction agreements and documentation, regulatory readiness, and execution timelines
  • End-to-End Legal Support for BAU Operations (MY, SG and or ID) - Provide hands-on legal support for day-to-day business operations across Malaysia, Singapore, and/or Indonesia, including commercial contracting, operational matters, and regulatory support, while ensuring continuity and risk management across markets
  • Drafting, Review & Negotiation of Complex Agreements - Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of legal documentation, including commercial agreements, operational contracts and strategic partnership arrangements, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Strategic Legal Advisory & Stakeholder Management - Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to senior leadership and cross-functional teams on operational, regulatory, compliance, licensing, dispute, and corporate structure matters, independently managing stakeholders at leadership level
  • Governance, Risk & Compliance Oversight - Support internal governance processes, including review of board papers, related-party transactions, contract approval frameworks, and legal checklists. Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the business and advise on impact and mitigation
  • Process Improvement, Knowledge Management & Capability Building - Identify and implement legal process improvements, including CLM, contract templates, playbooks, SOPs, and best-practice frameworks. Prepare legal updates and conduct training or workshops to build legal awareness and compliance across the organisation

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Law degree from a recognised institution and called to the Bar (Malaysia, Singapore, or Indonesia or any equivalent common law jurisdiction)
  • 8-10 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in private practice, preferably with exposure to M&A, corporate transactions, and/or intellectual property matters
  • Prior exposure to IPO preparation, fundraising, regulatory engagement, or large-scale corporate projects will be an advantage
  • Strong transactional and commercial legal experience, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements in a cross-border or multi-jurisdictional setting
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment, with comfort operating in ambiguity and managing competing priorities
  • Self-starter with a strong ownership mindset, able to work independently, initiate projects, and drive matters to completion with minimal supervision
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with senior leaders, business teams, and external advisors across multiple geographies
  • Experience handling fast-moving and high-pressure issues, with sound judgment and the ability to respond pragmatically and decisively
