Life Underwriter, AM/SE

Responsibilities

• Underwrite life insurance proposals as per underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
• Assess medical, financial, occupational, and lifestyle risks.
• Handle complex and high-value cases within delegated authority.
• Review medical reports and supporting documents for risk assessment.
• Take appropriate underwriting decisions such as acceptance, loading, exclusion, postponement, or decline.
• Provide technical guidance to junior underwriters and support case escalations.
• Ensure underwriting quality, accuracy, compliance, and agreed TAT.
• Coordinate with medical, operations, sales, and other teams for case resolution.

Requirements

• 5–6 years of experience in Life Insurance Underwriting.
• Strong knowledge of technical and medical underwriting.
• Experience handling complex and high-sum-assured cases.
• Covering Singapore market.
• Good understanding of underwriting guidelines, risk assessment, and compliance.
• Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Graduate in any discipline; insurance/underwriting certification is an advantage.
