Linguistic Expert Malay Language
Overview:
The Linguistic Expert will support the Uber AI program by performing human-led linguistic evaluation, content analysis, and data quality tasks that contribute to the training and improvement of AI systems. This position involves evaluating, reviewing, generating, and auditing language data across text, audio, image, and video formats, depending on the assigned resource level (L1L3).
Requirements:
- Proficiency and knowledge of the target language
- Understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI concepts
- Ability to perform linguistic evaluation and analysis independently, without AI assistance
- High attention to detail and adherence to data quality and security guidelines
Resource Level
L1 - Proficient (Non-Native)
- Near fluency/working knowledge of target language
- Comparing two texts to see which is better/better answers the question
- Ability to follow written and spoken task guidelines in English
- Reviewing text for accuracy and factuality
- Answering a survey (multiple choice)
L1 - Native-level Speaker
- Native-level, written and spoken fluency of target language
- Jr Linguist (less than 3 years experience as a linguist)
- Reviewing local knowledge content
- Ability to follow written and spoken task guidelines in English
- Quality Evaluations
- Ability to write justifications in English for evaluation selections
- Severity & Safety Evaluations,
- Fluency and Adequacy Rater
- Image/Video/Audio Annotation
L2
- All L1 skills plus:
- Long context SXS Translation Evaluation
- Excellent/fluent English language
- Prompt & Response Generation
- Ability to evaluate translation quality: accuracy, grammar and fluency

- Comfortable/skilled in generating/writing content from scratch in target language
- Prompt evaluations and rewrites
