Job Description

The successful candidate will be part of the Load Control Unit of Kris Business Hub (KBH), a Malaysia-based entity providing corporate and operational services in Kuala Lumpur.

The Load Control Unit keeps each flight balanced, safe and compliant. The load control team decides how to distribute passengers, cargo and baggage, then runs weight-and-balance calculations to develop an accurate load plan. By optimising how weight is distributed across the aircraft, load control helps maximise fuel efficiency and aircraft performance while preventing overloading and maintaining the aircraft's structural integrity.

Key responsibilities

As a duty manager, the successful candidate will be responsible to:

  • Lead and supervise all controllers during the shift to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient flight handling.
  • Oversee and manage staff rostering and flight assignments to ensure optimal coverage and smooth daily operations.
  • Monitor and follow up on emails and communications received in the operational mailbox, ensuring timely action is taken and all relevant queries are addressed.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for operational or safety related issues, providing guidance or direct intervention as needed.
  • Oversee execution of the shift plan, including real-time monitoring of flight loads, staff deployment, and completion of critical operational checklists.
  • Ensure all load control activities comply with safety regulations, manuals, and company requirements.
  • Liaise and coordinate with operations control, stations, cargo, flight operations and other stakeholders to optimize turnaround and manage irregular operations.
  • Monitor performance metrics (e.g., loadsheet accuracy, on-time performance, incident rates) and report anomalies or trends to management.
  • Lead shift briefings/debriefings, providing operational updates, lessons learned, and communicating company directives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying operational gaps or risks and implementing corrective or preventive measures during or after shift.
  • Support training and professional development of controllers; provide feedback and coaching as needed.
  • Ensure all safety and security incidents, irregularities, or deviations are reported, escalated, and followed up in accordance with SOPs.
  • Maintain accurate shift logs and handover notes for seamless transition between duty managers.
  • Serve as onsite crisis coordinator for emergency situations, executing the Business Continuity Plan as required.
  • Perform any other necessary duties as assigned by CLC management to support operational goals and performance.

Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in any technical discipline
  • At least 5 years of experience in load control, with min. 3 years of experience as a duty manager / in a lead role within a load control unit
  • Certifications in Weight & Balance and Dangerous Goods Regulations would be advantageous
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Critical and logical mindset with strong attention to details
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
  • Proficient in written and spoken English
  • This is a position that requires the successful candidate to work rotating shifts
