Job Description

At MR DIY International, we're more than a global home improvement brand, we're a catalyst for ambitious talent ready to grow beyond borders.

With over 5,000+ stores across 14 countries globally, we offer unmatched international exposure to those looking to build a meaningful, global career. From retail operations and merchandising to strategy, tech, and supply chain. Your work here shapes how millions of customers shop every day.

Job Summary:

To provide operational leadership for the Import/Export division. You are responsible for ensuring the smooth movement of global cargo by resolving complex operational issues and guiding the team. You will act as the Business Owner who identifies operational pain points and collaborates with the Center of Excellence (COE) to digitize them.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Operational Leadership & Problem Solving (Core Focus)

  • Lead Daily Operations: Lead and oversee day-to-day logistics operations for international import and export activities, ensuring strict compliance with local laws and international regulations.
  • Crisis Management: Act as the primary escalation point to proactively address and resolve escalated logistics challenges (e.g., shipping disputes, customs hold-ups, 3PL failures). You are expected to independently analyze the root cause and resolve these issues to minimize business disruption.
  • Specialized Cargo: Oversee the planning and execution of deliveries for regulated commodities (e.g., FDA, CE compliance) to ensure legal and procedural adherence.
  • Benchmarks: Establish performance benchmarks for logistics operations and ensure consistent adherence across regions.

2. Team Guidance & Stakeholder Management

  • Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior team members, providing training and support to build a high-performing logistics team. You are expected to foster a culture of independent thinking, moving the team away from relying solely on instructions.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Act as a central point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholders, including suppliers, logistics partners, and government agencies.

3. Process Optimization (COE Collaboration)

  • Business Requirement Definition: Identify operational bottlenecks and define clear Business Requirements for the Center of Excellence (COE) to build digital solutions. You will bridge the gap between operational needs and technical implementation.
  • Change Management: Drive the adoption of new digital tools within the team. Ensure that once the COE delivers a solution, the team transitions effectively from manual to digital workflows.
  • Data & Strategy: Collaborate with the Logistics Manager to define strategies that improve shipment planning and cost efficiency, ensuring that system data accurately reflects operational reality.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field (Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business).
  • Experience: Minimum 3-4 years of working experience in global trading / Import & Export.
  • Mindset: Mature independent thinker with the ability to think out of the box for problem-solving. Must be able to challenge the status quo constructively.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel (Intermediate/Advanced skills such as Pivot Table, Vlookup).
  • Experience with system implementation or UAT is an added advantage.
  • Language: Able to write and speak well in both Mandarin and English, as the role requires communicating frequently with the China logistics team.
  • Soft Skills: Good interpersonal skills, detail-oriented, self-driven, and flexible to change.
