Job Description

The Logistics Operations Specialist serves as the operational point of control for inbound and outbound supply flows within the ASEANZ Transport Control Tower based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The role ensures smooth execution across inbound shipments from multiple origins, warehouse operations, and domestic outbound deliveries. It involves monitoring performance, managing exceptions, and providing timely, actionable insights to the Malaysia Control Tower Manager. The specialist also supports monthly and quarterly business reviews (MBR/QBR) through accurate, data-driven reporting and maintains visibility on freight and warehouse costs to guide informed operational decisions.

What You'll Do

  • Transportation Coordination (Outbound) - You will manage outbound shipments using SAP (VT01N), coordinate with transport providers and 3PL teams, and ensure OTIF delivery performance. You will track shipments, resolve delays, escalate critical issues with recommendations, and drive process improvements.
  • Transportation Coordination (Inbound) - You will monitor inbound shipments from global origins to specific markets, ensure accurate customs documentation, manage exceptions, and escalate issues with actionable solutions while supporting process improvements.
  • Warehouse Coordination (3PL Korea) - You will oversee warehouse operations including unloading, put-away, and inventory accuracy via WMS. You will manage exceptions (e.g., discrepancies, capacity issues) and drive process optimization.
  • Stakeholder Interaction & Operational Support - You will act as the key operational contact, supporting order and stock inquiries while coordinating with 3PL, transport providers, and internal teams. All decisions and reporting remain centralized in Kuala Lumpur.
  • Reporting & Analysis - You will deliver regular performance dashboards (ETA, OTIF, inventory, throughput), track SLA adherence, highlight issues, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Monthly and Quarterly Business Review Participation & Strategic Input - You will support business reviews by presenting KPIs, highlighting risks, and providing recommendations.
  • Process Optimization & Cost Management - You will monitor freight and warehouse costs, identify optimization opportunities, and lead process improvements while supporting team capability development.

What We're Looking For

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • You have 5–8 years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations, including multi-origin inbound and outbound flows.
  • You have proven experience in process improvement initiatives and operational optimization.
  • You have experience mentoring or coaching junior coordinators and leading small project teams.
  • You have hands-on experience with SAP or similar ERP systems, as well as digital customer service tools.
  • You are experienced in working within fast-paced, international environments across multiple time zones.
  • You have familiarity with customs regulations and import/export procedures in Asian markets.
  • Experience working with virtual teams, in matrix organizations, or in project sponsorship roles is highly valued.

What Will Set You Apart

  • You have advanced proficiency in SAP (especially VT01N), WMS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to generate reports and analyze operational data.
  • You communicate clearly and concisely in English, and proficiency in additional regional languages is an advantage.
  • You are capable of managing multiple shipments and operational tasks simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • You have a solid understanding of freight and warehouse costing structures to support informed operational decisions.
  • You are culturally adaptable and able to work effectively across different regions and time zones, particularly within Korean business practices.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint, as well as SAP.
  • You demonstrate leadership by mentoring junior staff and driving process improvement initiatives.
  • You apply strategic thinking by translating operational insights into actionable recommendations and supporting business planning.
  • You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes, analyze trends, and deliver actionable solutions using advanced reporting tools.
