Core Responsibilities
- Assist PL/PM to coordinate and review M&E Consultants designs.
- Participate in all M&E, plumbing, fire protection system tenders and advice on Value Engineering, technical compilation, clarification and compliance.
- Constantly look into all aspects of cost savings in projects.
- Actively contributing to increase and evaluating Vendor Management System.
- Liaise / coordination with Consultants, Project Team and sub-contractors to ensure M&E, plumbing, fire protection system designs, installation and commissioning are compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate all M&E works with architectural, structural, and other services to avoid clashes and ensure proper sequencing.
- Plan and monitor M&E, plumbing, fire protection system work progress in line with overall project schedule.
- Review M&E design drawings, specifications, and method statements for constructability and practicality.
- Ensure proper documentation, submission, and approval of shop drawings, materials, and method statements.
- Highlight discrepancies, technical issues, or conflicts to consultants for clarification through RFI (Request for Information).
- Monitor performance of contractors and review M&E drawings to ensure all specifications and regulations are being followed.
- Preparation and submission of monthly progress report.
- Post Contract Responsibilities: Coordinate with client/consultant on commercial (BQ), attend project meeting, site work evaluation, CO/VO preparation and justification of CO/VO with client / consultant.
- Progress payment to client, Sub-contractor/supplier payment verification, Final Account with client, Final Post show.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, and handover of M&E systems.
- Review as-built drawings and operation & maintenance manuals (O&M).
- Assist in defect rectification and close-out process.
- Comply to department SOP and company Integrated Management System (ISO9001 / ISO37001 / ISO45001).
Job Requirements
- Possess a Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or any related field.
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Registered with the Professional Engineers Board (IEM, BEM) as added advantage.
- Good knowledge of M&E systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, ELV, etc.).
- Minimum 3 years experience in M&E Fit Out Design, Coordination and Testing & Commissioning.
- Proficient in reading technical drawings (AutoCAD / BIM preferred).
- Min 3 years experience in M&E Cost Estimation.
Skills & Competencies
- Must be computer literate and able to read technical drawings.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to converse in Chinese language would be an added advantage.
- Meticulous, proactive and able to work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
