Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works from site possession through to testing, commissioning, and handover.
  • Oversee and coordinate day-to-day M&E site activities, including subcontractor management, material tracking, installation progress, and resolution of technical/site issues.
  • Liaise closely with consultants, architects, C&S teams, M&E consultants, quantity surveyors, and clients to ensure alignment of M&E requirements with overall project objectives.
  • Review and interpret M&E drawings, specifications, and technical submissions to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance.
  • Monitor M&E work progress against project schedules, budgets, and resources; identify deviations and propose corrective actions.
  • Conduct site inspections, supervise installation works, and ensure quality control and compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Support testing & commissioning activities for all M&E systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical systems, fire protection, plumbing).
  • Prepare and maintain M&E-related documentation including progress reports, shop drawings, method statements, RFIs, and as-built drawings.
  • Assist in procurement planning, evaluation, and coordination of M&E materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Attend coordination meetings and support project scheduling using Microsoft Project or similar tools.
  • Ensure all M&E works comply with local regulations, safety standards, company SOPs, and project specifications.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
  • 35 years of experience in M&E works within the construction industry, preferably with a main contractor or M&E subcontractor.
  • Strong understanding of M&E systems such as HVAC, power distribution, lighting, fire protection, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret M&E drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Familiarity with testing & commissioning processes for M&E systems.
  • Good communication and coordination skills to manage multiple stakeholders on-site.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD (basic knowledge).
  • Able to work independently under pressure and meet tight project deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive working attitude.
  • Willing to be based on-site and travel as required.
