Job Summary
We are seeking a Machining Engineer to manage and optimise precision CNC machining processes, improve productivity and quality, and support NPI activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimise and standardise CNC machining processes, including 3-axis/5-axis milling and turning, slotting and lapping.
- Prepare and maintain Operation Instructions (OI), Work Instructions and Control Plans.
- Optimise cutting tools, tooling parameters, tool life and cycle time through process studies and DOE.
- Lead machining activities for NPI, First Article (FA), APQP and Cpk requirements.
- Conduct DFM and machining feasibility reviews for new RFQs and products.
- Troubleshoot machining issues including dimensional variation, tool wear, surface finish and process instability.
- Drive continuous improvement to improve OEE, yield, process capability and overall machining efficiency.
- Work closely with Production, Quality and Design teams to resolve process and quality issues.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Precision Engineering or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in CNC/precision machining.
- Strong knowledge of CNC milling/turning, tooling, cutting parameters and machining processes.
- Experience with 3-axis/5-axis CNC machines is preferred.
- Knowledge of NPI, FA, APQP, Cpk, DOE and DFM.
- Able to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills.
