Maintenance Manager - Salary Up To RM7000 - Kajang

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead and oversee all maintenance activities within our operations. The ideal candidate will ensure equipment reliability, manage daily maintenance tasks, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including our Japanese counterparts and provide hands-on support when necessary. This role requires a strong leader who can balance managerial responsibilities with operational involvement. Occasional business travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all maintenance operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning of equipment and facilities.
• Plan, schedule and supervise maintenance activities, including preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Lead, guide, and develop maintenance staff to meet operational goals and performance standards.
• Act as the primary liaison with the Japanese side for communication and technical coordination.
• Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues and ensure timely resolution of downtime.
• Implement maintenance best practices, safety standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, tools, spare parts, and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, policies, and operational procedures.
• Provide hands-on technical support when required and cover team tasks during staff shortages.
• Participate in business trips for maintenance activities when needed.
• Assist with hands-on maintenance work during the initial onboarding period (first 12 months) before transitioning fully into management duties.

Requirements

• Proven experience in maintenance management, engineering leadership, or a similar supervisory role, with at least 8 years of working experience.
• Strong leadership, communication and team coordination skills.
• Ability to multitask, adapt to changing priorities, and work under minimal supervision.
• Practical understanding of maintenance processes, equipment troubleshooting and operational workflows.
• Flexible and willing to perform both managerial and hands-on tasks when needed.
• Possess a valid driving license and own transport.
• Added advantage: experience in manufacturing or heavy equipment environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with international teams, particularly Japanese stakeholders, is an advantage.
